Access Customers
Important News about Rate Increases

Access Customers can look forward to the following changes over the next several months.


The following changes took effect on or before Janurary, 2002, and it should be noted that none of these changes in your service are contract breaking conditions. Keep in mind, most of you are still under contract. I will be contacting you soon to discuss the changes in your service.

  • Access has made changes in their Long Distance program. Rates are now 5.9 cents per minute billed every 6 seconds AND NOW you will be billed a 30 second per call minumum; That's a minimum cgarge of 3 cents.

  • Access's Toll Free Service has increased to 6.9 cents per minute AND NOW there is a 30 SECOND minumum usage and a $2.95 per toll free number Line Charge as well.
    E-CONTACT ROSS for much Lower Toll Free Rates.
  • International Rates have increased again. Effective January 1, 2006 the PUBLISHED RATES have been increased by an additional 10%. Please be sure to contact Access Customer Service at 888-275-0777 before making any international calls. Their international rates are not very stable.

  • Directory Assistance Rates are now Higher, actually as much as 98 cents per call. Use 1-800-FREE-411 for all your information calls, or go online to FREE411.com
  • Please DO NOT CALL Access for any inside wire work. Their prices went up again. January 1, 2006 they have added additional fees for inside wire work and new installs.
    CONTACT ROSS for a list of installers that can provide you the same service at much lower costs.
  • Soon Access will be increasing rates in "off net" areas. If you are currently under contract, you will be given a way out. More likely, you will be notified 30 days before your contract expires and you will have the option to opt out of your contract.

  • Access will soon be installing their own network. What does this mean for their customers? Simply you will be taken off the Bell South Network, and placed on a new network.

  • Home Companion Customers
    Rates for existing Home Companion Customers are being increased to match rates for Simple Connections. As Home Companion is no longer available for sale, this increase only affects existing customers.
    All customers affected by the June 1st increase will have recieved notices of the specific increase with their May billing.

  • ALL ACCESS (existing customers only)
    Effective June 1st
    Rates for All Access and All Access Lite will be increased for existing customers whose rate is below the current rates. This means a rate increase of about $4 per line. AA rates were increased in 2004 and existing customers were excluded from the price change. The customer's rates are now being increased up to the current market level.
    All customers affected by the June 1st increase should have recieved notice of the specific increases with their May billing.

  • ALL ACCESS LITE (existing and new customers)
    Access has increased All Access Lite rates in the past, but only affected new customers going forward. DUE TO INCREASING COSTS, we now have to go back to the customers under old prices and activate price increases. The rate increase will be effective June 1, 2006, in select areas in Al, Fl, NC,GA, and TN. All customers affected by this increase will recieve notifications in their May invoices.
    Georgia Cost Zone 3, Rate Group 12 (these are mostly off-net locations outside the Atlanta area) will see increases for both existingcustomers and new customers. New Rate of $28.95 versus old rate of $24.95 will be posted in price checker on June 1st.

  • ON-NET/OFF-NET
    Access has already started to install new "networks" in some areas. If you are one of the "on-net' customers getting a new network, this means you will no longer be on the Bell South Network, and therefore you will have to rely on Access to do any repairs needed to your service. Access is expecting repairs to be completed within 48 hours from the time you turn in a trouble ticket? Good luck in reaching them.
    Off-Net customers can look forward to major rate increases or their services being canceled.
  • Keep in mind that most of you have a contract. Canceling your lines with Access can be very costly.
